Transliving Club Nights are normally held monthly (with a short break over the summer). We have exclusive use of the venue (Basildon Post Office Sports & Social Club, Gardiners Way, Basildon, SS14 3AP) with a licensed bar, changing facilities and disco: a great opportunity to make new friends and socialise with existing ones!
Transliving normally holds three weekend events annually, two in Eastbourne and one in Bournemouth. Enjoy two and three-night stays at hotels with breakfast, dinner, and entertainment included. We book the whole hotel so you can let your hair down! A great chance to escape and be yourself!
If it’s your first time at any of our events, please make us aware when you arrive and we will soon get you mixing with others.

In memory of Stacy Novak
In 1980, at the age of 30, Stacy Novak took over the running of the TransEssex Support Group, the world’s first cis-gender female to be the co-ordinator of a transgender group. At first, just a local group based in Basildon, Essex, but it soon expanded to become TransLiving, and with the TransLiving Magazine, the organisation developed an international membership.
Stacy was plain-speaking and no-nonsense. She worked from her Essex base, always dedicated to assisting and to building the acceptance and understanding of transgender (worldwide). Back in the day, there were just a few trans publications. ‘Transliving International’ magazine stood apart. She took in help from others with talents in graphics, organisation and publishing skills, and the quality of Transliving magazine along with the quality of its contributions, went from strength to strength.

All TG titles tried to achieve mainstream distribution and it was Stacy who got her magazine Transliving International on the top shelf in your local newsagents (at least for a few years).
When everything went ‘internet’ Stacy kept printing and distributing hard copies by post – all the while STILL running an Essex drop-in room for Trans-help and support; a shop with wigs, trans-foundation items, and makeup requisites – all from her home.
She was active in many formal local national and international forums as a trans advocate.
She held weekend events in hotels and the well-loved monthly (Essex) events, for large groups to enjoy – all of which will still continue in her memory*, allowing her 44-year legacy to live on.
She rarely missed a Sparkle event – most recently, from her buggy – by the Transliving stall in the park.
And amazingly, all of Stacy’s efforts (as with all the TLI team) was as a volunteer. In fact, in the many times of financial hardship faced by Transliving over the years, Stacy would often pay various bills out of her own pocket as she believed in the cause so much – her money that she did not always get back.
She gave hope, changed lives, and rescued many. She was a unique character. once met, you could never forget her; a ONE-OFF. She will be missed, but mostly she will be REMEMBERED by thousands worldwide for all the love and support she gave to the trans community.
In addition to all her friends (which Stacy counted the trans community as), she also leaves behind a sister, a niece, a nephew, great-nieces and a great-nephew.
