A Girl About Town

Bernadette Vee

Kitten heels click clack on the cobbles.

There’s nothing I like more after a hard day’s toil at the office than to stretch my legs and take a walk through the town.

Today is no exception; the late afternoon is warm and inviting. I made the right decision shaving my legs last weekend so I can bare them now. Kitten heels click clack on the cobbles.

Strolling past as the shops close, the cafés stack their chairs, and pubs and wine bars start to open; I feel comfortable in my little world. Savouring the evening stillness, a hairdresser working late, glances over her client’s head as I glide past . . . no business for you I’m sorry – this hair never grows.

Yet, this is my happy place, my happy hour.

Attracted by a doorway decorated with flowers, I stop to smell their sweet scent and discover their blossoms are as fake as my bosom.

Yet, this is my happy place, my happy hour.

Unlike the flowers, my core is true to my external appearance; I dress to present to the world who I am inside. I don’t dress to impress, I dress to blend in, to achieve inner peace.

You too can have yourselves
and your adventures immortalised.

Once I’ve arrived back at the apartment, I don’t want the joy to end. I change into something less serious, more colourful, fun. Reclining comfortably on the sofa and smiling at the happy memories we made today . . . thank you Sean!

You too can have yourselves and your adventures immortalised. Sean is a talented photographer and a charming companion whose mission is to capture and celebrate our unique beauty.

Sean’s thoughts

I’ve had the privilege to work with Bernadette on a few occasions now. What struck me this time is that she is on a journey of self-discovery. I guess that’s true of many of my clients. Each time we plan a photoshoot the process becomes easier, and mutual trust grows, but with new exciting new challenges and goals. It’s great fun to discuss background scenarios and outfits as we prepare for the day. Sometimes, I think it is as much about the experience of being the ‘real you’ as it is about the photos taken. Hopefully, the final images are the ‘icing on the cake’ and help relive the memories.
